Original COMET “The Popular Aluminum” percolator coffee pot, made in the United States and representative of mid- 20th century American kitchenware. Comet-branded aluminum cookware like this was commonly produced from the late 1930s into the 1940s, overlapping directly with the WWII period when lightweight aluminum was widely used for both civilian and field gear. Pieces like this show up frequently in period photos and camp setups due to their durability and simplicity. This is a complete percolator set, including the main pot, lid with glass knob, internal basket, stem, and perforated spreader plate. All components are present and fit together correctly. It has been used extensively and still functions as intended, producing coffee in the traditional percolator method. Condition reflects long-term use. The aluminum body shows darkened patina, surface wear, dents and staining consistent with years of heating and brewing. There are no structural issues affecting performance. The handle is intact, the spout is cleanly formed, and the lid seats properly. The glass knob is present and secure. This is a strong, honest example of a working vintage percolator. It is well suited for reenactments, living history displays, or anyone building out a period-correct 1940s camp or kitchen setup. It also remains fully usable for those who prefer traditional stovetop coffee. Makes 9 cups of coffee per batch.
