This is a reproduction of the standardized M-1942 U.S. Army tan necktie, introduced as part of the updated service uniform regulations during World War II. In 1942, the Army phased out the earlier black necktie and replaced it with this khaki version, made to match the Class A and Class B uniforms worn by both enlisted men and officers. It became the standard issue tie for the duration of the war and was commonly seen in garrison, training, and even field settings when full dress was required.
This reproduction is made from cotton fabric, measures 52 inches in length, and features the correct pointed ends. It’s a versatile and accurate addition to any WWII-era Army impression, from early North Africa campaigns through the end of the war in Europe or the Pacific.
