Original vintage Sterno Kitchenette No. 46 folding food warmer manufactured by Sterno Corporation, New York, USA. Marked with Patent No. 1,323,567 and designed to hold two Sterno canned heat fuel cans beneath cookware or serving dishes to keep food warm at the table, buffet, picnic, or campsite. The underside is embossed to indicate that both small and large Sterno canned heat cans fit the unit. This example folds flat for storage and transport and still retains its original folding design. It has heavy surface rust and oxidation from long storage, but the steel remains solid overall. One hinge shows corrosion but is still present. A good candidate for careful restoration, or simply display it as-is for vintage kitchen collections, living history events, reenacting, farmhouse décor, or primitive camp displays.
