US Army branch tapes, Set of 3

These are US Army branch tape name tabs, each 1 inch tall, in olive drab cloth with black embroidered lettering. They are the sew-on type used on fatigues, field jackets, and later BDU uniforms from the Vietnam era through the 1980s and into the early 1990s, before the switch to subdued tapes on camouflage backgrounds. The variations in font and thread thickness between the three suggest different production runs or manufacturers—something fairly common since multiple contractors made these to Army specs. Collectors sometimes seek out these differences to match a particular uniform’s period or style. In good condition like these, they’re fully usable for restoration or reenactment purposes.
