Original Department of the Army Technical Manual TM 9-1000-209-12, dated November 1963, covering the M28 (XM28) Lightweight and M29 (XM29) Heavy Atomic Battle Group weapon systems, better known as the Davy Crockett weapon system. Approximately 250 pages with extensive photographs, diagrams and technical illustrations covering operation, organizational maintenance, 120mm and 155mm recoilless guns, spotting guns, fire-control equipment, vehicle installations, ammunition, storage and equipment serviceability. Also included are three separate period Change in Force supplements/addenda with three-hole punched pages intended to update the manual. This is a substantial Cold War-era Army technical manual covering one of the more unusual tactical nuclear weapon systems fielded by the U.S. Army. The covers show obvious water staining and general storage wear, with some staining along the page edges, but the interior remains completely readable and usable. Pages are not stuck together and the numerous illustrations and photographs remain clear. Three-hole punched for binder use. A particularly interesting Cold War technical reference with considerably more substance than the smaller introductory manuals commonly encountered.
