USAF survival kit moccasins, high-top style- Fits Size 10. 1950s-60s

$120.00

This is an original pair of USAF survival kit moccasins, high-top style, manufactured by La Grange Shoe Corporation under Specification MIL-M-4330. These were issued as part of Cold War-era Air Force survival kits, designed for downed aircrew to wear in emergency situations when boots were damaged or unavailable. The construction features soft leather soles and uppers with canvas leg extensions, secured by integrated draw cord lacing. They pack down small, were lightweight, and provided minimal but essential foot protection in survival scenarios.

The contract information—Order No. AF 33(602)-5925 and Stock No. 8340-300000-211—suggests these were likely made in the late 1950s to early 1960s, placing them firmly in the post-Korean War, early Cold War period. Condition is very good with supple leather, clean canvas uppers, and intact stitching and laces. These have not seen field use and show only minor age wear from storage. The U.S. Air Force stamp remains clearly visible on inside and outside of the moccasins. There are no size indications, but I wear a 10, and these fit fine with socks too. So between a 9 and an 11 would be right on.

These moccasins are relatively uncommon on the surplus market today and especially hard to find in such well-preserved condition. They make a fine addition to a Cold War survival kit display, aviation collection, or USAF-specific gear layout. Brings a tear to my eye to sell these… but retirement on a beach somewhere will be pretty OK too. Time to pass them on to someone else.
