Genuine U.S. Army Hot Weather Woodland Camouflage Pattern Combat Coat, ripstop, in a Large–X Long size. The contract tag shows a 50% nylon / 50% cotton blend (standard for ripstop after the late 1970s). The date is tough to read, but the format looks like 1995, which lines up with the period when these woodland coats were still in full production.
The shoulder patch is for the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division, recognizable by its distinctive shield with a diagonal black stripe and horse’s head silhouette. The insignia patches (including the name and branch tapes) are reproductions added later, while the jacket itself is original issue.
Condition-wise, it has one repaired rip on the lower back side. That kind of honest field wear doesn’t hurt its appeal, especially for collectors, reenactors, or living history displays where authentic service life adds character. The extra-large sizing also makes it desirable, since tall sizes are harder to source than regular lengths.
