U.S. Army Training Field Pack, dated 1994

$20.00

This is a U.S. Army Training Field Pack, dated 1994 and produced by Pershield, Inc. Unlike the standard ALICE rucksack meant for field deployment, these lightweight training variants were issued to recruits in Basic Training, ROTC programs, and other non-combat environments. They were built to mimic the look and function of the full-spec ALICE system but with simplified construction and lighter materials, making them well-suited for instructional use. Today they have become sought-after items for collectors, reenactors, and living history displays since they represent a very specific slice of 1990s Army issue gear. Their distinct “Training Use Only” production makes them less common than standard ALICE packs and ideal for outfitting mannequins, museum exhibits, or even film and television projects set in the post–Cold War era. This example shows period wear, some of the waterproof liner is coming off (pictured- and that’s part of the difference with the “training” label, it’s not as robust), but remains complete with straps and hardware intact.
