How The United States Got Involved in Vietnam – Robert Scheer, 1967

80 pages, paper cover, sixth printing June 1967.  First published in 1965.  Very interesting first-hand primary source explaining how the US got involved in Vietnam.  Written by Robert Scheer with the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions.  From a  historian’s perspective, it’s an interesting and objective look at what was going on at the time through he eyes of people living it.  So much has been learned since, and with better records and since published data today, nonetheless a very unique study for a historian of the Vietnam War today.
