WWII History Class- Weekly Newspaper

Aside from running Service of Supply, Bryan Dibble is a history teacher.  His classes include world geography for sixth grade, and US history for seventh graders.  Now this year he has been teaching a WWII class!  In order to facilitate all learners, and teach students of all genders and backgrounds, he developed a plan that would be motivating, educational, and interesting to all types of learners.  Mr. Dibble came up with the idea of creating a WWII newspaper with his class.  The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the WWII literature class came up with the name Years of War for the new weekly historical paper.  While the paper centers around World War Two, we will take the time to write about some current events and the impact that WWII has in influencing these events.  One of our main goals is to honor the veterans of this era by showing them that we do care what happened, and are trying our best to learn the lessons of our past.  This newspaper is staffed by twenty-six 11-14 year-olds, and they all are trying to become the next Ernie Pyle!!

We invite you to read some of the latest issues, and hopefully you will want to subscribe and support our continuing mission.  Visit us again next week.  The paper will be published every Thursday until the second week in June, 2009, then we break for the Summer.  Please contact us with any feedback you have about our work.
